Tank Status Update

It has been a week now, I've moved back all the livestocks back into the tank. Most of the SPSs lost their colors but all are doing well after the move. I've not lost any SPSs due to RTN and hopefully, they'll color up again soon. All the fishes and my one & only cleaner shrimp are doing great too.

Back to the beginning

Ever since my tank was re-setup back in January, I've been fighting caulerpa algae problems. I do not know where they came from but after 6 months, they started appearing everywhere on the live rocks. Every two weeks I will have to pull out large chunks of caulerpa to prevent it from taking over the tank. Until finally this weekend, I've enough of it and removed all the rocks from the tank. All the livestocks are moved into temporary holding tanks. Here is the tank now with newly the landscaped rock-work of tonga branches.

January Updates

January updates: Finally I've pickup some corals to get the tank going, big thanks to Mark and Karl for hooking me up with those nice frags. I've also added 2 new fish into the tank, a baby Lemonpeel Angel and a Powder Blue Tang. Here are some pictures of the fish and corals that survived the tank crash plus the two new fish additions.

Current Tank Status

Well, it has been quite a long time since I last updated. I was out of the country for about a month in Nov' 2007 and sad to say, when I returned from the trip, my tank has crashed again. I've lost all my exotic sps corals and fishes. The only surviving livestock are some lps, zoas and my two bimaculatus anthias. Since then, the tank has been re-setup from scratch with about 45lbs of Tonga Fusion liverocks. All the surviving inhabitants have been moved back into the tank and are doing well. In the next couple of weeks, I'll be ready to restock the tank with some frags.

Here is a photo of the tank condition when I returned from my trip:

This is how the tank looks like now....
